The Prepared Childbirth series is an experiential, interactive class underlining every woman's instinctive knowledge of how to give birth. Involving education, exploration of feelings and hands on practice this class will thoroughly prepare you for late pregnancy, birth, and parenting. By being held in a group setting, this class also offers you the opportunity to interact with other couples and learn from their experiences and perspectives.

 

Class Topics Include:

• The importance of nutrition, exercise, and preparation

• Trusting our bodies and the energy of the birth process

• Physical as well as emotional aspects of pregnancy, labor and birth

• Understanding optimal fetal and pelvic positioning

• Comfort measures for pregnancy, labor and birth including breath awareness and relaxation techniques

• Recognizing fears related to birth & mothering so you can progress in labor, uninhibited

• Making informed choices about birth location, birth team, and medical interventions

• How to prepare a practical birth plan

• Preparing for postpartum, breastfeeding, and early parenting

• For Dads: What to say to a laboring women, massage techniques to help ease labor discomforts and easy to understand ideas for supporting a woman in labor.

 

The Prepared Childbirth series meets once a week for 5 consecutive weeks and cost $185/couple or individual. A $85 deposit is due at registration to secure your spot in class and the remainder of the fee ($100)  is due by the first class; however you can always pay in full at any time. All classes will be held in Everett, WA unless otherwise posted.
